Falafel

This will be my very first post on my personal collection of favorite recipes.. I think it's easier to put it up here rather than flipping through the recipe books!

As always, selalu ler berbengkak hati ni bler cari resepi kt internet.. mostly in english, so always nk kene google the ingredients.. dari kecik klu kat dpur, manela nk gune term2 english ni.. maka terciptala my very own food dictionary including various type of herbs, spices and vegetables(pdf version)..masa tgk menu kt one of the arab restaurant aritu..tercengang2 n tertanye2 la ape ke mendenye 'eggplant' tu sbb ade various type.. igtkn telur ayam msk aper ker..rupe2nye eggplant tu terung! adess.. ade ke ptut.. apeler kene mgene terung ngn egg.. hu3

Anyway.. these days im craving for fresh falafel..Known as one of the most healthy dish due to parsley usage as main ingredient. That day tried yg instant punye, the very x sdap..Then decided to google it and lucky me, found one..

The Recipe :
3 medium onions, chopped
1 small bunch parsley, chopped (Ini saya substitute dgn daun ketumbar, sbb cari kat pasar takde parsley)
8 cloves garlic, crushed
1 teaspoon ground coriander (ketumbar)
1 teaspoon cumin (jintan putih)
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper
(optional if you want it to be a little hot: 1/2 teaspoon chili powder)
1 teaspoon sesame seeds (ini pun optional jugak, kalau tak letak pun takpe, tapi kalau letak lagi sedap)
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 slices of white bread (to make breadcrumbs(utk membuatkan falafel tak hancur bila digoreng)
oil for frying

Place chickpeas and onions in a food processor and process until beans and chickpeas are very finely ground. Add remaining ingredients, except oil; process to a dough-like paste.

Form into patties--if patties tend to crumble, process further or add a little flour.
Heat oil in a saucepan and fry patties over medium heat, turning until they are golden brown on both sides.

Walla!
That's how falafel looks like.. Best served with bread and salads.

With love,
Nor
